The Miraculous Story of Moises of Belize City

Note: This video was taken down since Moises is now back home in Belize safe and sound and in good health. It seems inappropriate to keep a video of him on death's door on the internet. I exchanged the video for a before and after picture.
This video was shot of a boy, Moises Aserterno, in the Belize City Hospital, who was on his death bed in March of 2009 . I shot the video in a few hours after hearing of his awful plight. I edited it as quickly as possible (as there are evident technical irregularities) as he had little time left to live. This video was uploaded on March 20th. It quickly obtained shot up in hits and many hospitals viewed the video. Various hosptials in the U.S. considered taking Moises in free of charge. A few days later, Baptist St. Anthony's Hospital in Amarillo, Texas agreed to accept Moises. Within a week he was issued a U.S. humanitrian visa to enter the U.S. as was his mother and his doctor (the speed of the U.S. government to issue such visas makes me happy to be an American). A private jet owner scrambled to volunteer his time and his own private jet to fly to Belize to pick up Moises, his mother and doctor, and fly them to Amarillo. Since then doctors have brought up his weight so that he is healthy enough to undergo a major stomach operation. By mid June 2009 he underwent surgery and after complications was finally discharged from the hospital mid August 2009. He and his mother then flew back to Belize and I was privileged to follow along with them on their return home with camera in hand. There was a big going away party at the hospital with local media as well as a media homecoming party in Belize. It was an exciting end to a really miraculous story of a boy who almost died but for the generousity of a varied group of people that happened across his path at just the right time. LMM is currently producing a documentary of this story. Please contact us for more info or to help.

This is a picture of a much healthier Moises a few days before his surgery mid June 2009.
